Qatar has signed a contract with MBDA for the supply of a
coastal defence system, the company announced on 1
September.
The system will be delivered with both Exocet MM40 Block 3
and Marte ER anti-ship missiles and will be able to operate
autonomously with its own radar, or be linked with a wider
coastal surveillance network, MBDA said.
The configuration and number of batteries that will be
supplied to the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces (QENF) was not
disclosed.
Although it did not say how much the contract would be
worth, the company valued it at QAR2.64 billion (USD725
million) when it announced that a memorandum of
understanding had been signed during the DIMDEX show
held in Doha in March.

- ﻟﻢ ﻳﺘﻢ ﺍﻟﻜﺸﻒ ﻋﻦ ﻋﺪﺩ ﺍﻟﺒﻄﺎﺭﻳﺎﺕ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺳﻴﺘﻢ ﺗﻮﺭﻳﺪﻫﺎ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﻘﻮﺍﺕ ﺍﻟﺒﺤﺮﻳﺔ ﺍﻷﻣﻴﺮﻳﺔ ﺍﻟﻘﻄﺮﻳﺔ لكن و ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﺮﻏﻢ ﻣﻦ ذلك لن ﻳﻘﻞ ﻣﻘﺪﺍﺭ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﺪ عن 2.64 مليار $ دولار .
