Intakes were assembled then the fuselage put together. Easy as 1, 2, 3!
Weapons load. I decided on something 'different' so here it is:
Added the Saudi specific antennae:
Wolfpack designs SNIPER pod, courtesy of Parabat:
Assembled:
I changed my mind about the weapons load after finding a GBU-31(v)3/B 'penetrator' JDAM buried under a load of stuff. So, this will replace the GBU-24 on the centre-line and 3x GBU-38's will replace the MK-82's:
Final shot of the jet:
Painting has commenced. Base colour on, just need to add the dark grey camouflage:
Tanks done:
Bombs and sidewinders ready for varnish:
Engines painted and ready for installation:
Next up is to add the camouflage as stated and paint the nav lights, LANTIRN pod etc.
Managed to get the darker grey on today:
Looks a lot darker than it actually is! Not sure if it's 100% but
it's the exact colours as per the Twobobs decal sheet. Painted freehand.
Also got the metallic sections around the exhausts painted along with the SNIPER pod and ejection seats:
A couple more bits and pieces to paint at the weekend then will hopefully be able to start decalling soon.
Weapons all glossed up. AIM-9's, SNIPER and the GBU-31 awaiting decals:
Airframe complete. Painted all the nav lights, pylons, LANTIRN and
tidied up a few areas. Once dry, i sprayed it with a coat of gloss.
Next up is to add the decals!
Slow progress on this one, but managed to get the decals on today:
The remaining ordnance with decals:
I think the Eagle looks quite smart in Saudi markings!
More done today. Added the Flory Models wash:
Left it on for about 40 minutes, then wiped the excess off and applied a matt coat:
Note i've attached the exhausts, wing pylons and FOD covers.
Ordnance ready to be attached:
Plan is to get the landing gear attached tomorrow and hopefully all the ordnance and antennae.
All the ordnance went on first thing this morning along with the landing gear and wheels:
Then I added some light weathering:
Antennae on and seats are in:
